For our family the impact of Alzheimer’s is profound.
Keith’s mother Judith was diagnosed in 2008 and passed away in March 2022. Keith Stay Sr. was diagnosed in 2016 and passed in 2021. Grace Stay was diagnosed in 1998 and passed away in 2007.
Honoring their memory is what inspired us to take the first step. We’ve met so many others who’ve also been impacted. If you’ve seen this disease up close you know how hard it can be on the family members who become caregivers. This shared experience is what drives us and our mission forward.
In 2019 we decided to step forward and try to make a difference for patients and families enduring this terrible disease. The first year we stumbled through it but found our sense of purpose, and our small but mighty team, with the generosity of our family and dear friends, raised over $7,000 for the cause.
In 2020 we wanted to do more, honor those we hold dear and find creative ways to fundraise…#StaysToEndAlz Golf Tournament was born. Amid a global pandemic we raised over $11,000.
One day we will live in a world without Alzheimer’s. How soon we get there depends on how hard we work. Please consider making a donation, participating in an event, or better yet, take up the cause with us and join our team.
With love,
The Stay Family
